Function and Flow

Finding your flow, in style

I’ve been at my current job for about a year and a half. I don’t usually invest a lot of time or energy decorating my workspaces but I my dated nook needed serious help. It didn’t take much to spruce it up a bit. The extra organization and splash of color really help make my space more fun and functional.

I started off with this mint desk pad from Amazon for $20. It smelled funny just after opening the package and it was missing the smartphone holder but the smell faded and I didn’t care about the holder. It came with cute little checklists and calendars that was more than I was anticipating.

The next thing I added was a monitor stand with small storage compartments. There’s a place for desk accessories, paper clips, pens and more. It’s closer to $30 but it’s a solid piece. It was easy to put together, is cute and sturdy, and helps ease neck pain.

I’m also a big fan of dual screens. If you use a laptop, I recommend this laptop stand by Rain. It’s pricier but looks better than anything else like it and comes in gold! Using this laptop stand will help match the height of your desktop monitor.

I still haven’t figured out what to do about the hideous cubical walls but I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled on Pinterest. If you have any ideas, please send them my way. What are your favorite desk accessories and decor?
